Cory achieves top score in GRESB sustainability benchmark for fifth year running
Cory has achieved a 5-star rating from the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) for the fifth year in row, scoring 98 out of 100 in the Infrastructure Asset Assessment category.
Cory scored at the top of participating companies in the waste sector overall, as well as leading the sector in both the management category, which scores strategy, risk management and stakeholder engagement, and the performance category which scores 12 aspects including health and safety, energy use and water use, scoring 38/40 and 60/60 respectively.
GRESB is the global standard for ESG transparency and measurable performance. Aligned with international frameworks such as the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, it provides a benchmark for real asset sustainability assessment, providing the global financial community with a trusted tool to both measure and elevate performance.
Dougie Sutherland, CEO of Cory, said: “We are proud to achieve yet another GRESB 5-star rating. Our consistent score is testament to the work that our people are doing day in and day out to ensure there is no waste from waste and to minimise the impact we make on the planet. As we progress our decarbonisation project, as well as other aspects of our sustainability strategy focused on waste prevention, air quality, engaging our local communities and providing rewarding careers, our people continue to make a difference in building a business we can all be proud of.”
Sebastien Roussotte, CEO of GRESB, said “GRESB Sector Leaders help set the pace for the industry, leading the way towards a more sustainable future. We are both proud of and encouraged by this year’s Sector Leaders for their dedication, leadership, and commitment to ESG principles and sustainability.”
