Annual Bexley Eco Festival to begin this weekend
The annual Bexley Eco Festival, organised by the London Borough of Bexley, London South East Colleges and Cory, is taking place from 9th to 16th October.
The free virtual event will give residents tips and resources for living more sustainably, reducing their environmental impacts, and getting more involved in their local community.
The week will feature expert talks on eco positive actions, advice on health and wellbeing, information from local community groups, live entertainment, and family fun activities.
Residents can register their interest on the Bexley Eco Festival website here.
Dougie Sutherland, CEO of Cory, said:
I’m pleased that Cory is once again supporting the Bexley Eco Festival. Caring for the environment and the communities in which we operate are core to our company values, and the Eco Festival is an excellent example of this. The event will enable residents from Bexley and beyond to better understand how to reduce their environmental impacts and improve their wellbeing.
Bexley’s Cabinet Member for Place, Councillor Peter Craske, said:
I’m delighted that we are once again involved in Bexley Eco Festival. This free online event is a chance for our residents to find out more about the Environmental, Health and Wellbeing issues that affect them – as well as an introduction to local charities, groups and organisations. There will be over 40 sessions available including 10 live sessions. Make sure you register to take part today.
Chris Tyler, Work Experience Advisor at London South East Colleges, said:
London South East Colleges is delighted to be involved in Bexley’s third annual Eco Festival. It provides an excellent opportunity for staff and students to demonstrate our practical commitment to local community events and the green agenda. Students have worked alongside Cory and Bexley Council staff to plan the event. Business students have planned activities for children from local schools and produced videos, Art & Design students have designed Eco Festival posters and contributed artwork and photographs for the online Eco Festival gallery and an ICT student has helped design the website. We look forward to this year’s Eco Festival being Bexley’s best!
